Kat + Karl's Wedding at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough, Maine

Soon to be newly weds, meeting for their "first look". The Groom sees his bride for the first time in her wedding gown and bouquet filled with wild flowers and peonies.

Together with friends and family, Katrina and Karl exchanged their vows at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough Maine. These two are incredibly down to earth, have the most relaxed vibes on one of the most important days, they are madly in love, and by watching them interact all day they seem to be best friends who completely nurture one another.

Kat and I met in high school. She was a cheerleader and was always a nice person. After highschool, we spoke often and supported one another in our goals to become healthier. The only regret I had was not building a friendship with such an amazing person sooner.

Kat and her bridesmaids got ready in a charming farmhouse where they got their hair and makeup done. Each room had their own unique characteristics. Karl and his groomsmen got ready across the road in the flower studio in less than 15 minutes. During the Getting Ready photos, we had to sneak Kat towards the back of the farmhouse in their personalized robes that Kat gifted to each of her bridesmaids. Despite the 100% chance of rain, their wedding day was a definite sign of luck, because the rain held off almost the entire day except during the reception that took place under a tent and the barn!

Throughout the day, one of the most memorable moment for me was their “First Look” where Karl sees Kat in her beautiful gown for the first time. His reaction expressed without words how incredible his soon to be wife appeared before him. The ceremony, exchange of vows, and marriage advice was another tear jerker. I had a hard time taking photos through the buildup of tears, but we made it. They kissed and continued on with the celebration!

How they met: For 4 years, Robin, the Mother of the Bride and matchmaker insisted that they “would be perfect together” and here they are now. Kat says “I guess you can say that the seed had been planted in both of our ears without us even realizing it. So when we were finally introduced in 2010, it was no surprise that we were crazy about each other have been together ever since!!”

Katrina and Karl, no one deserves this perfect day more than the two of you. I am beyond lucky and honored to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. A thousand thank yous for being awesome. I hope your new adventure together gets better each day. I loved being around both of you, your hilarious friends, and supportive families. Many many congratulations!
