Simple Diwali Decoration with Colorful Rice

October 21, 2017

Probably one of the prettiest holidays next to Christmas. Because I appreciate all cultures, I like to participate and learn about them. This year Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights that I chose to take part in. I browsed through some serious Pinterest pages and was inspired by the simple Ganesh. Of course I had to crown Ganesh with “Crazy Flowers”, named by the crazy colors. I used left over basmati rice (I prefer Jasmine rice and don’t eat basmati), colored tikka powder with a few drops of water and hand mixed it until the rice becomes saturated to the desired color. This was so much fun. I’m going to continue to do this every year.

I've shown what this looks like during the day and at night.
